VALLE CATHOLIC SCHOOLS FOUNDATION OFFERS A $500 TEACHER'S GRANT OPPORTUNITY
AUTHOR
Susan Flieg »

The Valle Catholic Schools Foundation continues their commitment to Academic & Classroom Enrichment throughout the entire Valle Catholic School system by inviting every classroom teacher to apply for a $500.00 grant that will help them continue a rich and fulfilling classroom experience for their students. "It is our way of thanking and supporting our teachers who do an exceptional job everyday but especially during these very uncertain times," explained President Cindy Loida and Vice-President Joe Rozier of the Valle Catholic Schools Foundation.  "We are fully committed to supporting the classroom learning experience for every student and teacher at Valle Catholic Schools."

Some examples of awarded teacher grants for this year are:

Mr. Adam Gibbs, Valle High School Biology and Algebra Teacher

Teacher Grants

Mr. Gibbs was granted an iPad and an Apple Pen.  He stated, "I am using this tool as an interactive whiteboard with my students in class and if needed at home in quarantine or in  the event we have to go remote.  This is especially beneficial when teaching 8th grade algebra and working out problems on the whiteboard both in class and at home.  Students see me working out problems in real-time and will be able to give me feedback and ask questions."

Mrs. Julie Holland, Valle Kindergarten Teacher

Teacher Grants

Mrs. Holland was granted three Samsung Galaxy Tablets with three multi-colored shockproof cases.  She explained, "With the current situation of social distancing, I have been struggling to provide enough materials for each student to work alone and stay engaged.  I had six centers last year for every two students.  This year, I need fourteen activities to keep all my students engaged. I am currently working to make new centers, sometimes duplicating activities to provide the same activity to two students at a time.  Adding tablets to the rotation will help alleviate some of my time in constructing more center activities and allows me to focus more on preparing and learning new techniques for possible online virtual learning."

As more teachers apply and are granted these funds we will share more examples of classroom excellence!!

The Valle Catholic Schools Foundation would like to thank their loyal donors and friends. Because with their continued support, the Valle Catholic Schools Foundation is able to continue it's legacy of support for Valle Catholic Schools.  Please call (573)880-5591 if you are interested in contributing to the mission of Creating Long Term Financial Security for Valle Catholic Schools in partnership with Academic and Classroom Excellence.
